In 2008, five NGO funded by USAID / DAP (Save the Children, Mercy Corps, Care, CRS, and World Vision International) was agreed to evaluate the implementation Positive Deviance in Indonesia. The evaluation was expected to get a document as a guide for government (MOH) and result for final report DAP program. It also got key findings about the challenges of implementation PD in Indonesia.

The evaluation was conducted in March through May 2008 in five NGOs are, with qualitative data collection and quantitative data collection methods. The team consist Judiann McNulty (consultant) and researchers from the Positive Deviance Resource Centre, University of Indonesia.

The result showed from 9997 children who participated in Pos Gizi for 10-12 days, around 59, 6% gained 200 gram. Of 4,847 participants who were weighed again at the end of the month, 45% had gained the recommended 400g. PD Hearth /Pos gizi is quite successful in rehabilitating malnourished children in the short term, especially the children who experience malnutrition.
